George married Karen ______ and they had Rachel, Jessie, Catherine (Katie) and George E. Hewitt, III.

Mr. Hewitt was the owner of the Affirmative Title and Abstract Ltd.

He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran serving his country during the Viet Nam War.

George died Thursday, February 21, 2002 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, New York, after a brief illness.

Interment was in Saratoga National Cemetery on February 25, 2002.

BERNE -- George E. Hewitt, Jr., 56, of Knox Cave Road, died Thursday, February 21, 2002 at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. George was born in Rochester and is the son of Rachel Hewitt and the late George E. Hewitt, Sr. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran serving his country during the Viet Nam War. Mr. Hewitt was the owner of the Affirmative Title and Abstract Ltd. George loved golf, music and family vacations on the Maine coast. He is the loving husband and best friend of Karen Hewitt; devoted father of Rachel, Jessie, Catherine (Katie) and George E. Hewitt, III; brother of James Hewitt and his wife, Charlotte and their son, Charlie; John Hewitt and his wife, Anne Marie and their daughters, Lauren, Melissa and Madison; his late brothers Gerard Hewitt and Geoffrey Hewitt; sisters-in-law Roxanne and Betty. George is also survived by his first wife and loving friend, Joan Hewitt-Goodrich and his loyal and devoted employee, Meta Champion. Funeral services will be Monday morning at 10:30 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery.
