Birth
Andrew Felter was born on April 27, 1808 in Rensselaerville, the son of William Felter and Jane Joy, a daughter of John Joy of England. [1]
Occupation
Andrew was a farmer. He was a supervisor for two terms, 1858 and 1859, and was also commissioner of highways and assessor. He sold his first farm and at about 1853 bought the farm now owned my his son. [1]
Marriage and Children
In 1868, Andrew married Jemima Eckerson, a daughter of William Eckerson and Jenette Miller and had a son, James Felter. [1]
Death
Andrew died in the village of Rensselaerville in 1894 at the age of eighty-six, and his widow lives in Rensselaerville, aged 82. [1]
Death Notice
Altamont Enterprise, October 5, 1894 Mr. Andrew Felter an aged and respected citizen was buried from the M.E. church Sunday. He is survived by a wife and two sons.
