Birth
Jacob P. Mesick was born on October 30, 1784 in Columbia County, NY, a son of Peter Mesick and Elizabeth Helm. [1]
Marriage & Children
On July 4, 1804 he married Lovisa Stafford who was born on November 15, 1787 in South Wallingford, Rutland Co., VT, a daughter of John Stafford and Sarah Doty. [1] Jacob and Lovisa had the following children:
- Peter J. Mesick born October 24, 1803, married Phebe Lewis[1]
- Sarah Mesick born April 9, 1805, married William Chamberlain[1]
- Elizabeth Mesick born June 15, 1806, no further information[1]
- Henry J. Mesick born October 20, 1807, married Catherine Ann Shafer[1]
- Catherine Mesick born July 13, 1809, married Henry Lewis[1]
- Christina Mesick born January 4, 1811, no further information[1]
- Mary Ann Mesick born in 1812, married Edward A. Chase[1]
- Phebe Mesick born August 29, 1817, married Reuben Chase[1]
- Jennet Mesick born September 15, 1822, married Henry P. Winne[1]
- Jacob I. Mesick born March 4, 1824, married Huldah Beebe[1]
- John Mesick born May 17, 1827, married Elizabeth Clute[1]
On April 10, 1830, Jacob married secondly, Maria Winne who was born in Albany County on September 26, 1792, a daughter of Benjamin P. Winne and Annatie Bradt. [1] They had the following children:
- James Winne Mesick born August 28, 1830, married Caroline Dyer[1]
- Hannah Mesick born February 18, 1832, married Andrew Kirk[1]
- Aaron Van Schaick Mesick born September 25, 1835, married Hattie Brandow[1]
Death
Lovisa died on March 24, 1829 in Knox. [1]Peter died on November 16, 1844 in Knox. [1]Mary died on August 18, 1872. [1] The place of burial for them is not known.
