Mrs. Ismay Watson Gaige, a lifelong resident of Aftsmont died Monday, Oct 5,(1970) at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home after a long illness.

Born April 1, 1896, at Mineral Springs, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Hattie Ruland Watson of Cobleskill. Her. mother died when she was six, years old, and she came to Altamont to live with her grandmother, Mrs. Wilber Whipple. Later she lived for many years with Mr. and Mrs. Montford A. Sand of Main St.

Mrs. Gaige was a member of St. John's Lutheran church, and sang in the church choir for many years. She was also active in operettas, cantatas, and other singing groups.
