Bud was an avid fisherman and enjoyed both fresh and salt water fishing. He especially loved fishing the St. Lawrence river where he owned a camp named "The Willard" located in Thousand Island Park on Wellesley Island. He also loved to hunt and was a charter member of a hunting club known as "Chet's Camp" located on the North Woods Club Road outside Minerva in the Adirondack Mt.

DeForest(Bud)Osterhout was born in 1908 the son of Thomas B. Osterhout and Lavinia VanWee
Education
Bud graduated from Bethlemhem Highschool
Occupation
Bud was a partner with his brothers Wyman and Everett in the ownership and operation of the "Indian Ladder Lodge" a very popular nightclub outside of Albany N.Y. On occasion he would work as an Iron Worker for local 12 in Albany N.Y.
Marriage and Children
Bud married Helen Brownell in 1939 and they had two children,Willard Osterhout b-1940 and John Osterhout b-1944
Death
DeForest Osterhout died on Feb. 19, 1956 and is buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in New Salem
