Birth
Henry was born in Knox on October 12, 1834, a son of William Spawn Sr. (B. abt 1814, D. unk) and his wife Temperance Benjamin (B. abt 1814, D.unk).[1][2][3] William was one of eight children.[1][2]. His siblings were:

Marriage & Children
Henry was married before he left New York. He reportedly had 3 daughters, Esther Spawn, Julia Spawn, and Mary Spawn from that marriage
He married secondly on June 30, 1861, in Washara County, Wisconsin, Mary Young[4] a daughter of Aaron and Abbie Young, who was born on March 28, 1846 in Illinois. They had the following known children:
