Services were held Aug. 27 for Everett B. Schoonmaker, 89, of Helderberg Trail, West Berne, who died Aug. 24 in Stamford Community Hospital in Stamford (Delaware Co..) after a long-illness.
Born in West Berne, he was a graduate of Albany Business College and was a self employed trucking contractor and farmer. He later owned and operated Schoonmaker's General Store in West Berne, retiring in 1982.
He was a 68-year member of Berne Lodge 684, F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie B. Schoonmaker; a son, Everett B. Schoonmaker, Jr. of West Berne; three granddaughters, Cheryl Furman of West Berne, Janet Davis of Berne and Karen Harmon of Rensselaer; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew Davis and Sarah Furman.
Services were from Fredendall Funeral Home in Altamont; burial;, was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Berne.
Contributions may be made to the Berne Ambulance Squad or the Berne Reformed Church.
