In 1765 Johannes and his brother Christopher built a log cabin on the north end of [[Warner's Lake]] and operated a Grist mill.(Source?)

Johannes married Anna Dorothea Hilts on September 26, 1758, in Schoharie Lutheran Church, in Schoharie N.Y. She was the daughter of Debold Hilts and Anna Nerbel. They had several children:
