He was the son of [[John Warner 2nd| John Warner]] and [[Catherine West]] and the brother of [[Peter W. Warner]], who died of disease [[Andersonville]] Prison while he was serving in the Civil War.

==Death==
He died September 28, 1863 from sickness he had contracted while serving in the Union Army in Louisiana. His body was returned to Berne and he was buried in the [[Beaverdam Cemetery]]<Ref>Dutch Settlers Society Transcription of Berne Cemeteries</ref>. (In [[Heroes of Albany]] it says he was buried in the Lutheran Church Cemetery, but that does not seem to be correct.)

The Civil War diaries of [[George H. George was 17 when he went off to war. He returned home less than a year later and died September 28, 1863 from sickness he had contracted while serving in the Union Army in Louisiana. The following January his younger brother, [[Peter William Warner]], lied about his age and joined the Union Army. Peter died November 1864 in [http://www.nps.gov/seac/histback.htm| Andersonville Prison] at the age of 15.
