Daniel Van Deusen was born circa 1838 to [[Robert C. Van Deusen]] (B. Nov 5, 1798, D. May 17, 1853) and [[Catherine Bovie]] (B. There is an affidavit from Wm. Flansburgh and Daniel S. Van Deusen relating to Catherine Van Deusen's pension claim which attests that she was wife [widow] of Robert Van Deusen and mother of Daniel Van Deusen. It gives assignment info and says he died at Baton Rouge, LA. Date is not given, but affidavit is Jan 1864.<ref>Rick Van Deusen</ref>
