+In addition to her work on the family farm, Liz did seasonal work at the New York State Department of Taxation. She was employed as a cashier and checked the pool temperature at the John Boyd Thacher State Park. She worked as a waitress at the Merrymans Tea Room in Knox. She also worked as a cook at several locations including a local rest home and the Altamont Manor. She loved the color of purple. She was a member of many local organizations including the Knox Republican Club. She served as the registrar of vital statistics for the Town of Knox. She was a member of the Knox Historical Society and the Knox Ladies. She held the office of trustee for three years with the Knox Historical Society.

+She has been a member of the Knox Reformed Church for more than 80 years. Liz was an independent woman known for her wonderful baking skills and fine meals. She could make something delicious from very few ingredients. She enjoyed her home, her garden, canning and sewing. She had an incredible memory and could entertain with stories of past events, including food, weather, and the people who attended. She was also known for her love of animals. She enjoyed many pets during her life, including her faithful dog Major.
