Lovisa married (2) on 27 Nov 1865, Robert Adams.<ref>St. James, p. 160</ref> After her second marriage to Robert Adams, Lovisa moved her church membership from the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guilderland (dismissed by certificate 5 Dec 1865) to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Berne. Lovisa and Chauncy were most probably first cousins. Chauncey was either a son or a grandson of Jacob W. Truax and Barbara Bell, the parents of Lovisa's mother, Maria Truax. Lovisa and Chauncy were enumerated twice on the 1850 census, once in Knox (p.336) on August 7, living next door to her parents, Thomas Stafford, Jr. and Maria. They were enumerated again on August 10 in Wyoming Co (p. 308) in the household of John Truax, 56, and Catherine J. Truax, 15. John was a shoemaker, as was Chauncey. On the 1855 New York State census the family was enumerated in Guilderland (Second Election District, p. 1, family 6) where they indicated they had resided for three years. Also in the household were their three daughters, Zenora, Alice and a one month old daughter, net yet named, but would be Clarisia Crissille, born 12 May 1855. I was unable to locate any of this family in 1860. On the 1865 New York State census, taken June 21, Lovisa is widowed and she and her youngest child, Clarence G. Truax,10, were enumerated in Guilderland in the household of Peter Bloomingdale (Second Election District, pp. 19-20). Lovisa listed her occupation as a tailoress.<ref>New York State Census 1865m FHL Film No. 0521930, p. 19</ref>A few months later, on 27 Nov 1865, Lovisa married Robert Adams, at which time Lovisa moved her church membership from the St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guilderland (dismissed by certificate 5 Dec 1865) to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Berne. She was received there 7 Jan 1866 by letter from the church in Guilderland. (FHL Film #0532622, Vol. 2, p. 203, and Film #0017528) Robert Adams (b. abt 1806 in NY), a clothier and a widower, was much older than Lovisa. Robert and Lovisa were enumerated in Berne in 1870 (p. 193B), however, Lovisa's children remained in Guilderland. Zenora, then 21, was enumerated as a domestic servant in the household of the Peter Fryer family (p. 524).Alice Truax, 18, was enumerated as a domestic servant in the household of Edward Becker (p. 525) and Clarence, 15, was enumerated as a farm laborer next door in the household of David Becker (p. 525). No further record has been found for Clarisia Crisselle Truax. She may have died young. Lovisa indicated on the 1900 census that she was the mother of four children, only three of whom were living in 1900. Robert Adams died sometime after the 1880 census was taken (Berne, ED 39, p. 21). Lovisa continued to live in Berne until her death in 1914.

Mrs. Lovisa Adams,On Monday, May 25, occurred the death of Mrs. Lovisa Adams, of Berne. For nearly a year Mrs. Adams has resided with her daughter, Mrs. Michael Vroman, at Maldin Bridge, Columbia county, and has been remarkably vigorous and active almost to the time of her death. The funeral services where held on Wednesday morning and the remains were brought to the old Guilderland cemetery at Osburn's Corners in the afternoon, and buried by the side of her husband. The burial services were performed by the Rev. Geo. W. Furbeck, pastor of the Altamont Reformed church. Mrs. Adams was in her 85th year and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Michael Vroman of Malden Bridge and Mrs. C. E.
