Lawrence was born about September 1922 in [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middleburgh_(town),_New_York Middleburgh, N.Y.]. Nicknamed "Larry", he was the first child of [[Everett R. Mackey]] and [[Grace May Tallman]]. He was raised by his grandmother [[Alice W. Freleigh | Alice Tallman]] in the [[Rensselaerville]] area.

==Death==
He died about 1944, in [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albany,_N.Y. Albany, N.Y.] from complications from diabetes. He was buried in [[Potters Hollow Rural Cemetery]] in [[Potter Hollow]].
