In 1812, Zina W. Zina W. Lay lived in Connecticut until the age of 17, when he came to Greenville to study under a relative Dr. John Ely.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;Medical&amp;quot;/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
After receiving his license, he went to work in Westerlo where he remained for 13 yrs.&amp;lt;ref name=&amp;quot;Medical&amp;quot;/&amp;gt; It was during this time that he married his first wife.
