On September 12, 1830, Paul married [[Lovina Louisa Furman]] (B. November 19, 1814, [[Berne]] - D. June 1, 1872, [[Berne]]), the eldest daughter of [[James Furman Sr.]] (1792-1842) and [[Esther Whitcomb]] (1791-1873).<br>
