John Furman was born in October 1766 Newtown, Queens Co., New York.
==Marriage and Children==
He possibly married [[Elizabeth Gifford]] though not proven, about 1790 in Middletown, Ulster Co., New York. They emigrated to [[Berne]] and are probably, though not proven, the parents of the the following children;

*[[James Furman]] (1792-1842)
*[[Delila Furman]] (1794-)
*[[Hannah Furmam]] (1799-)
*[[Sally Furman]] (>1800-)
*[[Robert Furman]] (1803-1868)
*[[John Furman *2]] (1806-1879)
*[[William Furman]] (1806->1887).

These children are siblings, proven in a letter to Joseph Furman,
written by William in 1884.

John was a farmer and appears on the [[1866 Beers map]] on [[Lot 444]], maybe [[Lot 429]].
==Death==
He died about 1830 in [[Berne]] and is buried with Elizabeth in [[Gifford Hollow Burying Ground]].
