Warren was a chauffeur for the New York State Counsels to the Governors and in his early years was employed at the original Shamrock Restaurant, Lexington Ave., Albany where he made the best pizza in town. &lt;br /&gt;

Mr. Elmendorf was a veteran of the Army during World War II.  &lt;br /&gt;

Warren died Thursday, February 28, 2002 at the Eddy Ford Nursing Home, Cohoes. &lt;br /&gt;

Interment was in Westerlo Rural Cemetery in the spring. &lt;br /&gt;

Obituary&lt;br /&gt;
ALBANY -- Warren P. (Rodney) Elmendorf died Thursday, February 28, 2002 at the Eddy Ford Nursing Home, Cohoes. He was born in Westerlo, NY, the son of the late William F. and Effie Scofield Elmendorf. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II. Warren was a chauffeur for the New York State Counsels to the Governors and in his early years was employed at the original Shamrock Restaurant, Lexington Ave., Albany where he made the best pizza in town. His memberships included the Zaloga Post American Legion and the American Red Cross where he was an active volunteer. He was predeceased by his wife, Olga Kinal Elmendorf and was the beloved `Dear Sweet Father` of Carol `Nurse Nancy` Elmendorf (Albert) of Latham and Michael (`the little boy`) Elmendorf, Sr., (Laurie) of Albany; grandfather of the most wonderful grandson in the world, Michael Elmendorf II of Latham; brother of the late Harry Elmendorf and Miriam Ernenwein. He is also survived by many very special nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to mention, but all of whom he loved. He also loved his grandcats, Ollie and Bridget, as well as Honey Bear and Charlie. The family wishes to thank his second family at the Eddy Nursing Home, Chris, Pat, Ida, Dorothy, Shelly, Mary, Helen, Trudy, Denise, Tanya, Nancy, Tina, Mike, Marion, Millie, Debbie and Betty as well as the entire staff. Thanks also to the Hospice Inn staff, especially to Barbara, who took time out of her busy day visiting her mother at the Eddy to faithfully visit `Rodney`. You were all so kind and caring and made his days brighter. Thanks also to special family members, Patty Izzo, Dorothy Ferraro, Isabelle and Jeff Fritze, Patty Bredenko and Robin Zoller for providing Rodney with phone calls, company and goodies. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Frederick Funeral Home, 633 Central Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are also invited to call at the funeral home, Monday 4 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in Westerlo Rural Cemetery in the spring. Donations in his memory may be made to the Eddy, 241 Columbia Street, Cohoes, NY 12047, the Hospice Inn, 315 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 or Wiskers, P.O. Box 11190, Albany, NY 12211. &lt;br /&gt;
