The cemetery was dedicated Monday, 11 Oct. 1897 by the Rev. John Kling of the [[St. Paul's Lutheran Church]], in a ''brief and impressive ceremony'' according to the newspaper. The first burial was that of William Zeh, who was buried Friday, 13 Oct. 1897. Some earlier stones are the result of reburials from other cemeteries.
