Two Willsie sisters showing of their catch

The Town of Berne has sposored a summer youth program for many years. Children are offered many craft and other programs at the school and various field trips are provided. One of the most popular field trips is a day at Osterhout's on Warner Lake. Safe boating is taught along with swimming and fishing with members of the Helderberg Bass Masters. Several members of the Bass Masters volunteer each year to bring their boats to the lake and take 1-4 children at a time out on the lake to fish. All fishing poles and bait are provided by the Bassmasters.
