[[Berne mill pond dam]] is to the east on [[Fox Creek]] as you cross the bridge in the center of the hamlet of Berne. It was first built as a wood dam about 1751 by [[Jacob Weidman]] to create a mill pond for [[Weidman's Mills]]. Later the mill pond provided water to power [[Simmons Axe Factory]], [[Berne Carding and Fulling Mills]], and [[Berne Grist Mill]].
